Introduction Although undergraduate course in Commerce in Bihar started as early as in the year 1942, facilities for Post-graduate teaching (M.Com) in this subject were not available in the State till the establishment of this Department in the year 1951. As a result of persistent public demand, this Department was established for Post-Graduate teaching. The Department was put under the charge of Dr. B.R. Mishra, M.A., Phd. (London); D.Sc. Economics (London) who took over as the Founder Professor and Head of the Department on July 25, 1951.

MBA @ A Glance Apart from imparting M.Com. Course, the Department also offers MBA Degree through its Management Programme which is one of the most prestigious courses run by the Patna University. The MBA Course offers a two-year comprehensive course designed to provide a sound foundation for understanding the complexities of modern business and to equip the students with analysis tools required for scientific decision-making in all the important function areas of business such as FINANCE, MARKETING & HUMAN RESOURCE. Placement guidance is available for all the students after successful completion of their respective courses.
